Orange the World

What is “Orange the World” Campaign?
November 25 th , is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against
Women. It marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based
Violence Campaign, an organising strategy by individuals and organisations around
the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and
girls which will conclude on December 10 th , Human Rights Day.
This campaign, also known as “Orange the World”; campaign uses orange as the
unifying colour throughout all its activities. It is a symbol of a brighter future, free from
violence against women and girls.

During these 16 days, Platform Up encourages students to “Orange the World”
through activities aimed at raising awareness of, or eliminating violence against
women. Platform Up took an active part in Orange Summit in Ankara in 2016 and it
has been hosting “Orange Summit” since 2017, together with other university and
high school volunteer students, in İzmir.
